Why Wai?

Most people in the west believe putting your two open palms together is a position of prayer.  However, it's origins come from Asia

The word comes from Wāi which is a town in Sātārā District in Mahārāshtra, India. A place well known for its Buddhist caves as well as Hindu/Brahmin temples.

The gesture of the wai is a high form or showing respect, and was used by warriors in Asia and Near Eastern Asia to show the hands as empty and without weapon.

In Thailand, it is commonly used as a sign of respect, loving kindness and devotion depending on where the hands are held. Highest at forehead for King, Monk/Holy person, Teacher, then in front of face for boss, parent, elder and lastly for friends, general public and those of equal social status held with thumbs at chest solar plexus.

Thailand's Hilltribes People

Hmong (meaw) Hillstribe people

NOTE: If you have a family member that survived combat in the Vietnam war and are given the opportunity to meet a Hmong person, whether in Thailand, Vietnam, China, Myanmar and especially in the USA.

No matter how young or old, please do not hesitate or be shy to walk up to them and tell them you want to thank their family and people for helping to keep your family member out of harm's way.  If for no other reason thank them for our county.  Their undying loyalty and commitment to our troops during the Vietnam war has never been surpassed by another people.

They are a people who live life simply and have been unjustly persecuted.

As you watch these videos, you will realize all Hilltribes are increasingly in danger of losing they way of life for nothing more than their pursuit of happiness to live unmolested by society.

Healthcare & Medical Tourism
Thailand is world renowned for its very inexpensive 1st Class Health & Medical care.  It has become a top alternative to man Americans either uninsured or just wanting a better class of care and treatment without the breathtaking cost.
Sheikhs, Kings and Presidents trust their personal medical needs to Thai hospitals like Bangkok's Bumrungrad International Hosptal which is Asia's No.#1 hospital and more reminiscent of a 5 Star Hotel than hospital. See for yourself.  Many Thai hospitals now take private insurance companies since it is in their best interest as well.
